Caravan Fridge Vent with Twin 12V Extraction Fans

Help move accumulated warm air out of your refrigerator compartment with the SJRV FV3000 caravan fridge vent. Its two built-in 12V fans provide active extraction behind the fridge, supporting airflow through a suitably designed installation.

The FV3000 combines a ventilation grille and twin fans in one wall-mounted assembly. It uses a 250 × 490mm cut-out, with an overall frame measuring 278 × 518mm and a depth of 58mm.

All height and width measurements below are stated as Height × Width.

Currently available in white. Black is unavailable.

Twin Fans for Active Heat Extraction

A caravan refrigerator releases heat as it cools its contents. If that heat remains trapped behind the unit, the surrounding compartment becomes warmer.

The FV3000’s twin fans help draw warmed air out through the vent rather than relying solely on natural airflow.

The fans are built into the vent assembly, providing an integrated alternative to mounting separate extraction fans behind a passive grille.

Provide a Clear Replacement-Air Path

Powered extraction works with an inlet that allows replacement air into the fridge compartment.

Where the refrigerator’s installation uses lower and upper ventilation openings, air enters through the lower opening, passes the cooling components and leaves through the upper outlet.

Position the vent to serve the refrigerator’s heat-release area and keep the airflow path clear. Vent location, cabinet clearances and inlet capacity all influence the result.

Cut-Out Size and Overall Dimensions

  • Wall cut-out: 250mm high × 490mm wide.

  • Overall frame: 278mm high × 518mm wide.

  • Overall depth: 58mm.

The wall cut-out is the opening required for installation. The overall dimensions describe the outside of the complete vent assembly.

The FV3000 has the same listed cut-out and overall height and width as the passive FV2000. Its 58mm depth is greater than the FV2000’s 42mm depth, allowing for the powered assembly.

For replacement installations, compare the opening, fixing arrangement and available rear clearance before fitting.

12V DC Fan Operation

The built-in extraction fans require a 12V DC electrical supply.

Plan an appropriate wiring route and accessible connections as part of the installation. Follow the supplied electrical instructions for connection and circuit protection.

The vent fans provide airflow around the refrigerator installation; they do not supply power to the refrigerator itself.

White Exterior Finish

The FV3000 is currently supplied in white for a clean finish on your caravan or motorhome exterior.

Although some existing product photographs may show black, the black version is currently unavailable.

Compare Powered and Passive Fridge Vents

Choose the FV3000 when you want twin built-in 12V fans and a 250 × 490mm cut-out.

For the same listed cut-out without powered fans, view the SJRV FV2000 passive caravan fridge vent.

For a smaller passive opening, view the SJRV FV1000 caravan fridge vent, which uses a 156 × 451mm cut-out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the FV3000 include two extraction fans?

Yes. Two fans are built into the vent assembly to provide active extraction.

Can the fans run from a 12V DC supply?

Yes. The built-in fans are designed for a 12V DC electrical supply.

Can it help move warm air out from behind a caravan fridge?

Yes. The fans assist extraction when the installation has a suitable replacement-air inlet and clear airflow path.

Does it use the same listed cut-out as the FV2000?

Yes. Both use a 250mm high × 490mm wide cut-out. The FV3000 is deeper and requires wiring for its fans.

Can the extraction fans operate without electrical power?

No. The fans need a 12V DC supply to provide powered extraction.

Is 278 × 518mm the wall cut-out size?

No. That is the overall frame size. The required wall cut-out is 250 × 490mm.
